"Troika was imposing a lot of cuts and austerity measures. For me I think all this started in 2011. We lost  our Culture Ministery to a secretary of culture. Our project called cCASA DA ESQUINA that had annual grants had a cut of 100%, the biannual and quadrianual arts projects had a cut of 38%, the University where I teached drama, dismiss me as almost their Guest assistants, like me, I star receive less and less money and working more and more hours.
At that time I came to Neswcastle to work wth Skimstone Arts, a theatre company and, of course to make money. I was there 3 times in 2012. And in 15 of September of 2012, the government was trying to impose a new tax (TSU) and everyone, literarly went to the sreet and I was in Newcastle seeing the Portuguese news in my laptop and I was crying (with Filipa) because I couldn’t be there.  I was not there. I was not there."
