Participation in political theatre
Politics in theater works between the poles of suggestion (emphaty), agitation (convincing) and partizipation (activization). Beyond the agitation of political issues and the suggestion of morality values from stage, the idea of political theatre is also to look at the process of doing theater in a political way and to open this process for participants. This might happen over a modus of interacting with the audience on stage or to find new possibilties of producing a theatre play.
Therefore exists many different methods and styles. The so called "Forum Theater" is just one of the renowned methods. The workshop sequence "participation in political theater" tries to analyse different possibilities of making the stage to a "social place". The idea is to find answers for questions like: When there is a forum on stage? What is the stage as a social place? Which methods and tools do we have to bring people together on stage.
We want to create a sequence of workshops which thematizise this issues and to test our results in the end on stage with an audience.
